Mary Friel

I obtained my degree in Psychology, Sociology and Politics from NUI Galway in 2005 and then went on to do the MSc in Animal Behaviour at Exeter University. Following that I worked in the Animal Welfare and Behaviour group at Bristol University as a research technician for 4 years on various behaviour and welfare projects in farm animals. I am currently studying for my PhD at Queens University which is investigating vocalisations as a welfare indicator in pigs.
